Animal Print Wild Style
- Don’t Over do it!
It is important not to overdo the amount of animal print that you wear. It can quicky become overwhelming if you have multiple items or are mixing the patterns.
We always recommend that you start by just accessorising your outfit with a printed bag, scarf or pair of shoes. A plain outfit can easily be on trend with a splash of a familiar animal pattern.
- Keep it Classy
Any outfit which is going to have a wild pattern needs to be simple and clean. We are talking clean lines and a classic look; less is definitely more. Jeans, plain blouse, and a leopard print scarf are a good example of a complimentary combo.
- Solid Colours
A gorgeous block of colour or even shades of a neutral colour will be super classy when paired up with an animal print. The print will be the focal point to the outfit and it is important to provide a flat background so that it will stand out. Patterned blouses or skirts, will complicate the look and dilute the message of the outfit. White, Black, Beige, Khaki, red, green, blue or orange will be perfect to pull out of the wardrobe.
- Tone Down the Bling
Strong focal points of an outfit must be allowed to be distanced from other bright and shinny items. You do not want to over complicate the look by adding bling and an animal print scarf. One or the other but not both. Keep it chic and classy.
- Mix it Up and Mess Up
Only use one animal print per outfit. If you have two or more the outfit will look too busy and there will be no order or focal point. It is all about balance, something must always win in the visual battle, the jungle has something at the top of the food chain, this is a fashion chain.
- Animal Prints are Very Forgiving
If you want to cover a part of your body, then go for animal prints as they are the biggest distraction. The prints always catch the eye and can make areas look smaller, especially if they have a dark colour or a heavy pattern. Accessories such as scarves can be very versatile in the way they are used around the body and can be adapted throughout the day as activities change.
